Hello, I'm Chao.

In 2024, I created Claria - a jewellery brand focused on simple, meaningful, and timeless pieces. I kept seeing jewellery that felt over-designed, with embellishments that often wore the person, rather than the other way around. At Claria, I want jewellery to let you shine, enhancing who you are without overshadowing you, and serving as a gentle reminder to stay connected to your values.

A big part of my life is a search for clarity - understanding who I am, making sense of the world around me, and exploring those little emotions that catch me off guard. Brene Brown’s The Power of Vulnerability has been a huge influence, inspiring me to embrace authenticity. And that’s the essence behind "Claria": clarity, authenticity, and not afraid to be seen.

I've always loved pearls. They’re gentle yet luminous, each one unique with its own imperfections - and I believe it’s in those imperfections that true beauty shines.

How it all began…

My journey to crafting jewellery started with a simple YouTube video on how to make pearl stud earrings. I had an “Aha!” moment, realising that I could create my own pieces with quality pearls and sturdy, premium metals - something I hadn’t found in the market, at least not with an affordable price tag.
